Symbole der Nuxalk aus Kanada.Ein Grizzlybär umfängt einen
Adler mit Armen aus Lachsen und ruht auf Raben-Beinen. Über ihn
erhebt sich ein Orca der einen Biber tragt. Gekrönt wird das Totem
von ISTA, der mystichen Urmutter des Stammes. |

Above: Nuxalk Wolf mask. The director of the Royal Berlin Museum of Ethnology sent the Norwegian born Adrian Jacobsen on a two year collecting expedition to the Pacific Northwest during 1881-1883. Jacobsen brought back with him more than 7,000 aboriginal artifacts including many from the Nuxalk First Nation.
